GWEN VERDON & FRASER SKEOCH (FOSSE, 2000)

Theatrical Discipline. Cinematic Vision.

Scoring with structure, soul, and story at the centre.

Fraser is a Scottish-born composer, conductor and musical director whose extensive career spans West End theatre, contemporary dance, opera, live events, broadcast television and commercial work. With a background steeped in musical storytelling and precision under pressure, described by Ann Reinking as “unwavering under pressure”, he now brings his richly theatrical skill set to film and TV composition. He currently lives in Surrey.

Fraser graduated with a B.Mus (Hons) from the University of Glasgow before studying conducting with Sir Alexander Gibson, earning the title of Scottish Young Conductor of the Year,  and composition with Judith Weir (Master of the King’s Music, 2014–2024). A scholarship to study with Aaron Copland at Tanglewood in Boston further deepened his compositional voice and orchestral fluency.

He has conducted numerous major West End productions including The Lion King, Fosse, West Side Story, Thoroughly Modern Millie, CATS, Tommy, and Kiss Me Kate. Personally invited by Dame Gillian Lynne, Fraser conducted the final West End performance of CATS. He also composed a new entr'acte for Fosse (West End) at the request of Gwen Verdon and Ann Reinking.

As a composer, Fraser’s original theatre works include The Pied Piper (The Wilde Theatre, Bracknell; Haymarket, Basingstoke), Mowgli (Bracknell and The Hexagon, Reading), and the touring opera The Rose and the Ring. His dance compositions include original scoring for bows music and movement segments in Pickwick and collaborations with Dame Gillian Lynne, Gwen Verdon, Ann Reinking Bettina Jonic and Thea Barnes.

Fraser's music is known for its rhythmic vitality, emotional clarity, and seamless integration with narrative, qualities that translate directly to screen. His commercial credits include scoring for major brands such as Winalot dog food and Andrex, and he served as vocal coach to Stephen Merchant for Gnomeo and Juliet. His television appearances include The Royal Variety Performance, Children in Need, Blue Peter, This Morning, and more.

Fraser has also performed at the Cannes Film Festival, Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Ball, Highgrove House for King Charles, and the Royal Albert Hall. As a vocal coach, he has worked with numerous West End talents including Lindiwe MkhiZe (World Tour with Hans Zimmer, 2025; The Lion King), Rachel John (Hamilton), Lexi Khadime (Wicked), and Oliver Lidert (Aladdin). As a keyboardist, he’s played in Phantom of the Opera, Starlight Express, Joseph, and others — and shared the stage with artists such as Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, and Robbie Williams.

Fraser's unique combination of theatrical experience, compositional agility, and collaborative fluency makes him an invaluable creative partner for directors and producers across theatre, film and television.
